My dad was 72 years old and just had the aches and pains that men get at that age. He had had a mild
heart attack in the early 1990's and was on tablets for this that and the other. But apart from all
that on the day he died he was fit and well. I had seen in xmas day and he looked so nice, healthy
and well. I am so glad we saw him then that, we had a laugh and that memory will stay with me
forever. On the day he died ( boxing day 2008) he was with my mum visiting another city. They had
had a nice walk around and was in a pub having a meal. He was fine, and having a joke with people on
the other table. He was then chatting away to my mum and suddenly with no warning what soe ver just
fainted on her shoulder. He was as we have been told aready dead at this point. He just died like
that there in the pub on my mum. People in the pub were so lovely and help, one woman a nurse was
pumping his heart, the emergancy services arrieved and they tried everything but was not meant to
be. The one comfort is that we know he died without one bit of pain or or thought of what was
happening. My nightmare was getting to my mum who was alone in another city, and that is what if
anything will haunt me and my dreams forever.
My dad was a right character! He made everyone laugh and the life and soul of any party. I lived
over the road from him and he was in my life every day. Whenever I am out in the street, at the bus
stop or going to the shop I always get asked 'hows your dad!?' everyone knew him on our estate. I
dont know how we will recover from this, I dont know how I can ever celebrate xmas again? I am here
for my mum and will do everything and anything to get her through. The support I and my mum have had
from family and friends ( who are suffering as well over this) is overwelming and want to thank
everyone from deep down in my heart. Please pray for us to help us through. I love you dad and
cannot imagine my life without you. I will miss you until we meet again. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I share your sadness and know just what your going through,your dad sounded like a really great person. The sun still rises in the east,and darkness falls at night, but nothing now seems quite the same, each day is not as bright.The birds still sing, the flowers grow the breeze still whispers too, but it will never, ever be the same world without you. It`s so sad that you had to go, your leaving caused such pain, but you were very special, and earth`s loss is heaven`s gain. x marie x
